In 2019, the Post Study Work Rights (PSWR) were amended by the Australian Government. International students are now eligible to stay back in Australia for a period of up to 5 years based on certain conditions. Those graduating from universities located in “Major Regional Centres” can opt to stay back for a period of 4 years and graduates from universities situated in “Regional Areas” are permitted to stay back in the country for a period of 5 years. It is a great option to help support the overall expense being incurred and for exposure to broaden ones horizon. By law and based on the visa, most students are allowed to work for up to 40 hours every two weeks while the course is ongoing. During any scheduled course break, the cap is unrestricted.
